The Foresters crew is a brilliant group of people, all with one thing in common: they want to make
sure you’re having a damn good time whenever you visit. This month, meet Bryony.

Name: Bryony

Role: Bar and Events Manager of Woody’s

Bryony is the one you’ll find upstairs at Woody’s, booking the bands,
running the bar, and generally being a legend. She’s been working in music and hospo for years, and knows just how to get a good night going. The first band she booked for Woody’s was Shepparton Airplane, and there have been countless more since!

What’s your go-to knockoff?
"Considering it’s usually the small hours by the time Woody’s closes up, a shot of Jager usually does the trick."


Stockade Multi-city Tap Takeover

This ain’t your regular tap takeover! Stockade Brewing Co from Sydney have decided to take things up a notch, hosting simultaneous tap takeovers in Victoria and Queensland, all linked up by video!

Starting from 6pm, we’ll be tapping up a killer mix of special release Stockade brews – as well as
some of your old favourites – while Brewhouse Brisbane does the same! Join the interstate cornhole competition, enjoy a brewer’s shout from 7-8pm, and see who can throw a party better!

Oh, and if you’re wondering if their GABS-winning The Mountie Maple Stout will be on tap… you’d be right!


Meet the Crew: Lauren

Each month, we’re going to introduce one of the Foresters team so you get to know just who makes Foresters what it is.

Name: Lauren

Role: Duty Manager and general bringer of good times

Lauren’s been around the hospitality traps in Melbourne for a number of years now, including working at the Fitzroy Beer Garden just across the road. Working at Foresters has allowed Lauren to try her hand at all sorts of things, from events to craft beers and spirits.

What’s your go-to knockoff?

Knock offs are a great chance to try one of the new beers on tap, like our current beers from Welsh brewery Tiny Rebel. If not beer, it’ll usually be a whisky.

Drink of the Month

We have a massive selection of Australian wines and craft spirits behind the bar at Foresters, on top of our rotating tap lineup. Each month, we’ll be letting you know about one that you need to try on your next visit.

The Dignity Reviver

Our own twist on the classic Corpse Reviver No. 2 cocktail, the Dignity Reviver is ridiculously easy to drink, making it the perfect ‘hangover cocktail’. Featuring West Winds Gin, a drop of absinthe, French ginger liqueur, dry vermouth and grapefruit, you’ll be bouncing back from the night before in no time.

Good Beer Week is almost here!

There are three words on everyone’s lips (and minds) right now, and those words are Good Beer Week. Yes, Australia’s biggest celebration of craft beer starts again this Friday and this year we’ll be kicking things up a notch as the Pint of Origin venue for New Zealand, bringing you the most chur tap lineup this side of the Tasman.

We’ve got Kiwi brews by the truckload ready and waiting to grace our taps, but we aren’t stopping there! Here are all the opportunities to get involved at Foresters during Good Beer Week.



Kiwi food, sweet Kiwi tunes, probably some All Blacks victories on the TVs… it’ll be sweet as a kumara. But that’s not all, we’ve got meet the brewer sessions with some of the best brewers in EnZed lined up all week long! Check out the dates below to see when you can get your fix of Kiwi hops!

The mad scientists of NZ beer turn Foresters into a science lab for the night, with live demonstrations of their weird brewing techniques, beer samples, and insights from the mad scientists themselves. See how the magic happens, then taste it!


Wednesday 17 May, 7PM

Want to date a Kiwi brewer? Well, kind of. Have your own personal meet the brewer and tasting session so you can ask them all the questions you’ve ever wanted to ask, then DING! After 15 minutes, you’ll be on to the next one!


Friday 19 May, 8PM

Wellington knows how to party, so we’re letting them throw one at Foresters. Wellington brewers and bar owners take control of the taps, the music, the entertainment, and the food to show you how to party Kiwi-style! Hint: make sure you call them jandals, not thongs. Kaine’s our go-to man for events, sorting out upcoming beer launches, events, and anything fun and a bit stupid that is going on at Foresters. He’s worked at a number of hospitality venues, in roles from glassie through to management, so knows just how Foresters ticks!

What’s his go-to knockoff? "Right now, it’s the 3 Ravens Smoked Oyster Stout. Not even joking!"

Beer of The Month

We have a constantly rotating tap lineup at Foresters, as well as a massive selection of Australian wines and craft spirits. Each month, we’ll be letting you know about one that is sure to knock your socks off.

Goose Island Midway IPA

We are proud to be the only venue in Victoria currently pouring the Goose Island Midway Session IPA following its launch in Australia last month. Coming in at 4.1%, this US-style session IPA is packed with Mosaic hops, giving a bright, tropical aroma and moderate bitterness on the palate. The next time you drop in, just look for the Goose!
